The Soar Mill Cove Hotel with Absolute Design – Anthony Greenwood Photography

The Soar Mill Cove Hotel is a family run business now in their 3rd generation and as such it has a distinct family feel. Situated near Salcombe, South Devon with rolling National Trust hills running down to the beach, it has all that you would require and is set up for children. A welcoming four star family hotel, lovely.

 

I was there for 27 hours, one night, and one day, and worked 22 of those 27 hours. I saw glimpses of the beauty of the hotel and the scenery, as it zoomed past my lens. I did however sample the hospitality which was fantastic, and warmly received.

 

Absolute Design and I had a shot list which we needed to get through, it consisted of shoots of dawn and dusk and everything in between, a truly epic task. This was only hampered by the atrocious weather, thick cloud and sea mist all but for 45mins at 6am. Thankfully we were outside at this time shooting what we could of the scenery.

 

The brief was to provide a collection of photographs with a vintage family album feel to them. These photographs were then set to underpin the new website and hardcopy marketing materials tasked to Absolute Design.

 

I shot all the photographs in Raw at high resolution and then edited them in Photoshop for that vintage look.
